This Snow resort is set in a gorgeous part of the Australian environment just below the Mt Kosiosko. Many of the runs end at a central bowl area close to the Village. Because of the height of the mountains and the positioning this snow resort can get some great snow. Thredbo has great ski runs for the advanced thru to the intermediate and beginner skiers and snowboarders.
Other things that differentiate Thredbo Snow Resort is that they have a Nastar ski race course run where you can get timed on a slalom racecourse for a small membership fee. Thre are also quite a few parks and play areas for those skiers and snowboarders that wish to get into the terrain.
How to get to Thredbo
If coming from Canberra in the ACT you head thru Cooma and Jindabyne. From Melbourne there are a number of ways. One very scenic route is up through back of Kousciosko coming up thru Corryong. Parts of this route can be quite narrow and also out of mobile range. Make sure you check the weather and the road conditions before leaving.
Thredbo Accommodation
Thredbo has a marvellous ski village with many accommodation options to cover from budget to VIP. Most of the acommodation is in the form of club lodges and on mountain accommodation which are at the base of the mountain. All being located in the bowl area. There are so many great retail and food outlets at this snow resort. This resort also has a community pool and sports indoor centre.
